Surrender Waitlist Form

At this time, AniMeals can take cats from Missoula County ONLY! If you live outside of Missoula County, please call the shelter, as staff can direct you toward resources in your respective county. We appreciate your understanding.

AniMeals prioritizes intakes based on the most at-risk within Missoula County. We make every intake decision based upon our capacity for care, taking into consideration the immediate needs of our current shelter residents. Our maximum shelter capacity is 50 cats and we can currently take up to 35 cats in foster homes. We take in felines as strays, veterinary surrenders, from overcrowded Missoula County shelters, the sick or injured, very young and very old, and cats other shelters cannot rehabilitate. We do take owner surrenders, but they are a lower priority.

If you are submitting a surrender form for a cat who is pregnant, or a cat with kittens or just kittens: SPACE IS LIMITED!! If we cannot accommodate the request for help, we will direct those individuals to other shelters and resources.

We rely on a external veterinary clinic for all of our spays, neuters, and every other veterinary service, which contributes to the timely manner we can plan and coordinate intakes.

If this is an owner surrender request, AniMeals offers a pet food bank for dogs and cats and a medical fund to increase retention in the home. We can offer these resources until space opens up at the shelter.

** If this cat was adopted from another shelter please get in touch with that shelter before submitting a surrender form with us**

PLEASE BE PATIENT AS WE HAVE A LIMITED AMOUNT OF SPACE. WE WILL CONTACT YOU AS SOON AS WE CAN.

Multiple cats? They must be entered individually unless instructed by AniMeals to put them on one request.
